Nicole Collins-Kwong will be teaching WSET Levels 1 and 2 in Wines. Here is a little info, straight from the horse's mouth! We're happy to have her aboard!
I'm a seasoned wine nerd passionate about sharing my love of wine with others. My first formal wine class in 2017 opened my eyes to the world of wine education and I haven't stopped learning! The truth is, I've been interested in wine since working at a liquor store in college. But it really clicked when I spent my honeymoon in Napa Valley where I had a magical wine experience. It wasn't a clear path into wine, though…
With an MBA, student loans and solid benefits, I became deeply stuck in corporate America. I didn't intend to spend so long in cubicle land, but somehow it added up and became hard to break free. I completed my WSET Level 3 Award in Wine in late 2023, which gave me the boost needed to take the leap to make my passion a reality. In 2024, I launched a private events business called My Wine Truth, and I also work on the wine team at Thomas Liquors in St. Paul.
When I’m not talking about wine, I love to travel—especially if there are vineyards nearby! My husband and I take our two boys with us everywhere as we explore the world, finding plenty of adventures and fun, from hot air balloon rides to hiking, and always lots of eating. At home, I love to cook, garden, exercise, cheer for the Vikings, and tend to my St. Paul urban zoo, complete with a silly pug, a fat cat, and backyard chickens.
