WSET Level 3 in Wines: Completely online! (Feb. 10, 2025 - Apr. 13, 2025)

*Deadline to register is  January 27, 2025 at 12pm (noon) Central Time

This is an advanced-level qualification for professionals working in the wine industry and for serious wine enthusiasts.

How does the WSET Online Classroom work?

Each course has a set start and finish date (2/10/25 - 4/13/25), with clear guidelines on progression; however, there are no fixed times to sign in as there is no "live" delivery of content. You can complete your learning at times that suit you, and you can work through the material at your own pace.

For individuals seeking to delve deeper into the world of wines, the Level 3 qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and winemaking. The course includes in-depth tasting technique, wine laws, and service. Additionally, the course covers factors affecting the style and quality of wines from Europe and from the rest of the world as well as sparkling and fortified wine production around the globe. The course material should take about 90 hours to complete.

Students will learn through a range of independent and/or group activities supported by videos and quizzes, designed to achieve the required learning outcomes to prepare for the examination.

An online educator guides the WSET online classroom. Weekly topics can be viewed by logging into the online classroom anytime during the week. There are set start and finish dates for each week, but no set class times. The course modules should be followed in order, but you are free to complete the modules at your own pace during the 9-week window.

Throughout the course, you will have access to a subject-specialist educator who will provide feedback on any assigned exercises and respond to any questions regarding the modules. For any other questions, contact Nikki or Karin at nlerpelding@vinelabwine.com or karin.rockstad@vinelabwsa.com.

Students are responsible for purchasing class wines during online study. However, you will be required to attend an in-person tasting workshop prior to the exam where wines will be provided.

There is also an optional Level 3 wine kit available here to help with study and tasting. Another option to help with the essay portion of the exam is a private study session with Allison Sheardy, a WSET Diploma graduate and Master of Wine candidate. Click here for more information.

Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.
